This little girl, is just that, a little girl. This month Adi started to flex her Miss Independent muscles and started to show her parents some attitude. She knows what she likes and what she wants and we are working hard to get her to tell us without whining or tears. She still loves to talk and learns a few more words each day. This month she really started to to communicate using two words together, like play date, blue bird, help please, no no, more please, hold hands and see more. Her favorite word seems to be, cookie, and it's also her favorite food. At least she's chowing down on homemade healthy cookies , so not to worry right? Did I mention that she's fast? This kid loves to run and she does it while squealing most of the time. She also loves to "help" -- she likes to help sweep, take care of groceries, wash dishes, do laundry and put her blocks and toys away. And she loves to read! Adi is a book worm and will read all day long. She will sit quietly and read books in her crib after she wakes up. She loves books and it makes me so proud that she does. We had three of four of her first molars cut this month, which makes for lots of fun. She is still happy despite the growing pains of her body. This month she weighed in at 12kg or 25lbs! She's a big, happy, healthy and smart girl. Enjoy these pictures and the video at the end.

Our Japanese neighbors Kiyoka and Cazuo have been asking us for months to go with them to lunch on their "small" boat. Last Saturday, we were finally able to align our schedules and off we went. We met their boat at the Straits Quay marina, where there are dozens of yachts and really nice sailboats docked. Kiyoka was modest when she told us that her boat was "small" because in my world their "small" boat was a nice sized yacht. None the less, we all boarded and set sail for a small island between Penang and the mainland to enjoy some local seafood. Lunch was a feast of fresh seafood, including prawns, crab and large mantis prawns. This was hands down, the best seafood I have had in Malaysia. Fresh, succulent and delicious. Everything about the afternoon was fantastic. From the skipper who drove the boat, to the clear calm day and the amazing meal, we all enjoyed ourselves. We sailed under the Penang bridge twice and even tried to fish in the Striats of Malaca. Adi enjoyed herself for the first half of the trip and then an overtired and hungry toddler set in. After fighting her nap, she finally passed out in the conditioned cabin below deck. Eric and I took advantage of nap time and soaked in the sun on the deck of the boat. It was an amazing day and one we will never forget. Here are a few shots from my phone because we left good camera at home.
Our last trip to Pangkor Laut was 18 months ago, I was pregnant with Adi and it was one of our last getaways as a family of two. It was luxurious and romantic. Fast forward to last week when we returned, as a party of three. We knew this trip would be different then the last time but none the less, Pangkor Laut did not disappoint. We were joined by our friends Marcie & Jeff and their two sweet girls, SkyeLynn and Josie. We had neighboring beach villas so after the girls went to sleep, the adults could enjoy some adult beverages on our large balcony. Our days were spent relaxing at the beach and the pool, taking long afternoon naps and eating nice meals. Marcie and I splurged and spent a few hours at the amazing spa while the guys looked after the girls. We all enjoyed the large private beach with turquoise water, nice surf and clean sand. Adi finally learned how to play in the sand and not eat it and she loved relaxing in her lounge chair. Nature was in full force as well, we had amazing cool weather and clear skies for our entire stay. We were surrounded by lush rain forest and had the pleasure of watching horn bills, fruit bats and large monitor lizards. It was a great mini vacation where we all relaxed and recharged our batteries. Here are a few pictures from our adventure. Enjoy!
