The Foxes Come to Texas

A very anticipated visit, all five Foxes came to Texas.  We kicked of our reunion with the Radfords in the Woodlands.  Just imagine, six kids and six adults under one roof. Madness. Thank goodness for a beautiful house complete with a trampoline and pool.  We had a blast drinking cocktails and catching up.  The kids wore themselves out at the park, on the trampoline and in the pool.

Originally, we were to meet back up with the Foxes after their Canadian adventure in Austin.  Unfortunately, Adi came down with an awful blood bacteria that wiped her out for 10 days so plans had to change.  Kai and I headed to Fredricksburg to an exotic game ranch we rented for the weekend so the Foxes and Radfords could have an "authentic" Texas experience.  The ranch did not disappoint.  Rancho del Sol is 20 minuets outside of Fredricksburg, making it accessible to the quaint German town for shopping and eating, but far enough away to feel like you are in the middle of no where Texas.  Complete with Zebras, the ranch is home to over 160 animals including deer, antelope, mountain goat, buffalo and horses.  The main house is a trophy room of prized game from the ranch.  We rented the mule and explored the property, where Nikki and I were lucky enough to find the zebras.  Louise trusted me enough to take her for a spin as long as she could keep her champagne glass.  Eric and Leon went full out Texan...the proof is in the pictures.  We had a great time but I really wished Eric and Adi could have come along too!

From the ranch the Foxes headed to San Antonio for a few days before stopping in Austin for an all together, too short three day visit. I'm glad we could show the Foxes what the Hartners' real Texas life looks like.  We hung out at the park, let the kids play, drank tea, drank wine, ate breakfast tacos, bbq and lots of Mexican food.  It was a wonderful visit and it should be noted that it's the 5th February in a row that the Fox and Hartner families have reunited.  Each year the group grows, who knows what next year will bring, but I hope we can see each other again!

And as we say here in Texas:
"Y'all come back now, ya hear!"
